ABOUT US
CQL Canada is a national charitable corporation dedicated to being the leader for excellence in the measurement and evaluation of personal and community quality of life for people with disabilities. Through our services, publications and public presence we establish real connections between disabilities’ theory and practice, helping those who work in the disability community take the important step from innovative ideas to everyday action.
Established in 1994, CQL Canada works in partnership with The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL), which has over 35 years of experience in defining, measuring and evaluating the quality of services in organizations and systems. Measurement of quality in services is focused on the benefits of services in the lives of people receiving services. Our process begins with defining quality from the person’s perspective. Personal Outcome Measures® are at the heart of the process. We connect our history of promoting Basic Assurances® and values with our new vision for Responsive Services® and quality of Community Life®.
We emphasize the role of community supports in facilitating personal quality of life. CQL Canada combines these ingredients into a unique quality improvement process. We recognize that quality is not a “thing” but an ongoing process that requires focused efforts over time. CQL Canada uses the Quality Measures 2005® to focus on personal, organizational and community quality of life.
