CQL CANADA ACCREDITATION

 - more than a certificate on the wall!

Experience, quality, solutions, prestige, confidence and value – just a few reasons why your organization should consider accreditation through The Council on Quality and Leadership Canada (CQL Canada). Quite simply, our accreditation is unlike any other.  Anchored in the individual yet integrated throughout an organization, with CQL Canada Accreditation your organization can continue to grow and achieve a level of excellence and service that you have not seen before.

Accreditation with CQL Canada is not a one-time event, but an ongoing journey to support your quality improvement efforts.  Key to proving the integrity of your organization’s quality assurance practices is your ability to collect and analyze data toward improving quality.  CQL Canada has set the standard for data collection in the field of disabilities and mental health services and through our Accreditation program, we can show you how we do it.  Our staff that will be assigned to your organization will be with you each step of the way through this process.

CQL Canada is recognized as a designated accrediting body in the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.

We’ll prepare you for every step of CQL Accreditation. Together we measure Shared Values, Basic Assurances®, Personal Outcomes, service responsiveness and commitment to Community Life®.  Using the Quality Measures 2005®, organizations and CQL Canada:

  • assess the alignment between values and practices and work to close any gaps;

  • ensure that Basic Assurances® are in place;

  • learn which outcomes are important to people;

  • assess service responsiveness; and

  • move the organization from the role of provider of services to one of a bridging organization.

CQL Canada Accreditation has set the standard and paved the way for creating person-directed solutions in human services.  When your organization earns CQL Canada  Accreditation, you are identified as a leader – in your community and in the field – and you will be recognized for your commitment to achieving the highest standards.

Here are just a few of the many benefits your organization will realize with CQL Canada Accreditation:

  • Increased accountability to the people you support and stakeholders; funders, public and private;

  • Evidence that you protect the health, safety and security of the people you support;

  • A tangible marker of your commitment to providing supports that improve outcomes in people’s lives and of your commitment to quality improvement; and

  • Recognition that your organization provides individualized services and supports

  • while maximizing fiscal and human resources.

In these times of limited funding and resources, CQL Canada Accreditation becomes even more important because it helps you focus on the initiatives most important to the people you support.  Revitalize your entire organization through Accreditation with CQL Canada.  Become one of our “Partners in Excellence” and let others know that your organization, like CQL, is committed to the quality of Community Life®.

What our customers are saying about accreditation with CQL Canada -

When we first looked at the Quality Measures 2005® we were unsure of whether it was something we were interested in.  The basis seemed to be about data collection and analysis and systems within the organization rather than specifically on the people we support.  After experiencing the accreditation process using the new measures we realized how incredible they were.  Not only did it contain the same element of interviews with people to learn their perspective but the Personal Outcome Measures® were inherent throughout the Basic Assurances®, Shared Values, Community Life® and Responsive Services® factors.  Each and every factor, each and every probe has a direct relationship to each person that receives our services.  The process of accreditation allowed for more involvement for all levels of staff, board, volunteers and community.  Even after two consecutive Accreditations with Distinction, the Quality Measures 2005® took Community Living Campbellford/Brighton to a whole new level of quality and accountability.

Community Living Algoma was accredited by CQL Canada in November 2005. The successful Accreditation award was the result of putting the principles and values inherent in the Personal Outcome Measures® into practice.  In 2005 CQL Canada introduced the Quality Measures 2005®. We recognize the value of this new accreditation process in helping to further shift organizational culture to person centered service delivery and enhance the organization’s role in connecting people and their community. In December of 2006 Community Living Algoma conducted our first guided self assessment using the Basic Assurances® and Shared Values tools. The information gathered has helped us understand what areas we continue to do well in, what areas we need to improve in and to develop a plan to further improve services.  The workshop helped us develop a road map to achieving accreditation with the Quality Measures 2005®.  We also learned that we need to collect more relevant data to measure our progress and to help us make effective systems changes. This next phase of our quality journey is both challenging and exciting.
