ACCREDITATION CQL Canada is pleased to be one of only three organizations recognized as a designated accrediting body by the Ministry of Child and Family Development in the province of British Columbia.
In February, 2009 CQL Canada hosted a two-day overview of CQL Canada’s Quality Enhancement and Accreditation Program in Richmond, British Columbia. This interactive workshop assisted participants to better understand and assess how CQL Canada’s Quality Measures fit with their organization’s beliefs, values, culture and quality improvement goals.
CQL Canada has three accreditations scheduled in British Columbia for 2009 - Vectis Support Services, Cedar Crest Centre for Community Living Ltd. and Celebration and Rainbow Manor, Ltd.
WORKSHOPS A Conference Style Self-Assessment Workshop was held in Richmond, British Columbia January 16-17, 2008. Participants from 27 different organizations from across British Columbia attended this event to gain an understanding of a tool that ensures a person centered focus for service delivery. Participants were provided with an overview of the outcomes and how they apply to people receiving support from their organization. Participants had an opportunity to conduct an interview with a workshop participant role-playing a person who receives services and a different workshop participant role-playing a staff person who knows them best.
In 2007 both Semiahmoo House Society, a non-profit organization located in Surrey/White Rock, that provides quality services and support to people with disabilities and their families in the community and the Delta Community Living Society, a non-profit community-based organization that provides support to adults with developmental disabilities and their families, hosted Self Assessment Workshops. The Self Assessment Workshop is a four-day workshop that covers how to conduct the Personal Outcome Interview, synthesize interview data from people served, analyze findings, and identify organizational needs for change.
