Guided Self-Assessment Workshop for Basic Assurances® and Shared Values

Basic Assurances® detail the essential, fundamental and non-negotiable requirements for all service and support providers and poses the question, “What are the important health, safety and human security issues for this person?”

Values drive organizational behaviors, and shared values shape organizational culture. We believe the Values are what cause organizations to move.

"The Self-Assessment workshop on Basic Assurances® and Shared Values is, in my opinion, the most powerful organizational learning tool on the market.  When a group of staff and managers representing different service areas of the organization work with, and struggle through the Personal Outcomes Measures® and probes and begin to understand organizational priorities through a form of knowledge sharing, the very culture of that organization does change.  This was a great workshop, worth every penny and has set us on a path of discovery, learning and continuous quality enhancement."

- John Klassen, Executive Director Plainfield Community Homes

"I found the Self Assessment Workshop to be an extremely valuable exercise. The process assisted Community Living Thunder Bay to develop credible, comprehensive recommendations to ensure and encourage the development of person centred supports and to develop strategies that will enable our organization to overcome the barriers that restrict high quality service provision”.

Anita Broere, Director of Day Services and W.J. Griffis Children Centre and Co-Chair of Accreditation, Community Living Thunder Bay

I highly recommend to any agency interested in Quality Improvement or who are interested in examining their readiness for a Quality Review engage in the Guided Self –Assessment Workshop for Basic Assurances® and Shared Values.  The three days also served as an agency team building exercise, communication mechanism, and educational tool. It validated where we have strong systems and practices and those requiring improvement. A worthwhile investment for any agency.
