CONFERENCE STYLE SELF- assessment workshop USING THE PERSONAL OUTCOME MEASURES®

This dynamic 2-day interactive workshop provides an opportunity to gain an understanding of the Personal Outcome Measures® tool to ensure a person -centred focus for service delivery. Participants will be provided with an overview of the outcomes and how they apply to people receiving support from their organization. Participants will have an opportunity to conduct an interview using pre-prepared role-plays, with workshop participants role-playing a person who receives services and a staff person who knows that person best. This workshop can serve as an introduction to the Personal Outcomes Measures® or as a refresher for people who have participated in a 4-day Self-Assessment workshop.  It’s a great workshop to introduce a large number of staff to the Personal Outcome Measures®.

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE:

Our participation in the training (Conference Style Self - Assessment Workshop) convinced us, Queens Association for Supported Living, the major residential and day program provider in our county, of the importance of the Personal Outcome Measures® for training for our staff as a whole and our organization specifically. This was a cost effective method of addressing the training and a good way to promote the philosophy across the province. I believe it was successful. Our next step will be to train front line staff. We are hoping to see this as a provincial and regional action.
